I'm Banned at the Googlewhack Site!

Just got served with the below notice when I tried to enter a new Googlewhack at www.googlewhack.com (my Nom de Whack is "Whackmaster ß".) Why! - because I found a flaw in its program. Seems that Gary Stock didn't take kindly to my inventiveness. Instead of fixing his program, he banned postings from my IP address, without so much as giving me a warning.

How did I do it? (Ban ME will you!) If you create a valid googlewhack, you get to enter a phrase and also your name. I created Unicode strings for both, which his program can't handle. It didn't do any damage, it just unexpectedly widened the page display to beyond what most folks have their PCs set for.

If he would just fix his low-rent site to allow Unicode characters, we users could be very creative (not that we already aren't!) and everyone would have more fun. Unicode is a way to display special characters, such as symbols for musical notes, math symbols, etc. Below are shown a few of the many interesting Unicode characters. You may or may not be able to see them properly (the first two should be musical notes), or they may look different, depending on your font.

♪ ♫ ☺ ☻ ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ • ◘ ○ ◙ ♂ ♀ ♪ ♫ ☼ ► ◄ ↕ ‼ ¶ § ▬ ↨ ↑ ↓ → ←∟ ↔ ▲ ▼

Learn how to use Unicode and you can add some spice to your e-mail, blogs, etc ... or piss off Gary Stock. Maybe it'll make him get off his lazy ass and change his program, which is way, WAY behind the times.
